Staff Story | A military to Live the Life journey…
Thank you for your service.”
As a retired Soldier with 27 years on active duty and now 35 years of total federal service, I’ve received this expression of gratitude many times. Whether I was having lunch with fellow Soldiers at a local restaurant or walking through a sea of applauding USO volunteers at a Stateside airport returning from an Iraq deployment, the heartfelt gratitude was humbling, sometimes a little embarrassing, but always very much appreciated.
Unfortunately, the last 25 years of global conflict have added tremendous stress to military marriages and families beyond the “normal” pace of military life. Deployments to combat zones following months of arduous training and deployment preparation, have increased the divorce rate in the US military over the past two decades; downstream from a broken marriage are children suffering the anxiety and separation from their parents and the trauma of the loss of a
stable, loving family.
At Live the Life, we are proud to collaborate with service leaders and chaplains to bring our groundbreaking marriage and family programs to military installations across the country as well as to troops serving overseas in Asia and Europe. Whether it’s taking time out for a fun Date Night event, or couples enriching their marriage with and Adventures in Marriage workshop, or military parents and kids learning the skills to thrive together in an interactive Family Frontiers weekend retreat, Live the Life is standing in the gap for military families. Family Readiness is Military Readiness. Partnering with us through your financial support helps OUR military stay strong and ready to defend the American Way of Life. Join us on
mission to serve those who serve us!
