Live the Life was born from a moment of truth. In their very first marriage class, Richard and Elizabeth were asked to rate their marriage from 1 to 10.
Richard confidently said 9.5. Elizabeth rated it a 2. That moment changed everything.
It was a wake-up call. This moment was the spark that inspired them to learn, grow, and repair what was broken. Along the way, they discovered that many other couples had the same problem: they never learned how to have a healthy and thriving relationship. They turned the brokenness of their own marriage into something beautiful by starting a non-profit to help other couples find the same hope and healing they found.
For over 27 years, Live the Life has helped couples, teens, and families build strong relationships, healthier communication, and emotional resilience. Behind every statistic we share is a real story. A real family. A real transformation.

Richard and Elizabeth Albertson started Live the Life in the back of their townhouse in 1998 with a mission to strengthen marriages and families. They started Live the Life out of the painful lessons learned from the brokenness of their own marriage. With the growing cancer of divorce and family breakdown spreading across America, Richard and Elizabeth’s passion is to provide individuals and couples with the practical tools, skills, and resources needed to transform marriages and families. After many years of steady growth and increased impact, Live the Life became a statewide organization in 2011. Today Live the Life has offices across Florida in Tallahassee, Jacksonville, Panama City Beach, and Orlando. As of 2024 we recently opened our first office in Texas located in San Antonio! We are recognized nationally in the marriage and relationship education field.
