Serving those who Serve | a coaching story…
My husband John and I have been involved with Live the Life for about 16 years.
We were introduced to the ministry a few years after our own marriage crisis and
yearlong separation. When we learned about the grant they were awarded to
conduct military Adventures in Marriage retreats 7 years ago we were excited to
be a part of this new “adventure”!
To serve as coaches for these precious couples and have a front row seat to their unique struggles is an honor, and a tangible way we can give back to them for their service. John was in the military during a previous marriage and knows firsthand how challenging married military life can be. The military AIM retreats allow couples a chance to decompress and learn
practical communication skills with coaches in a safe environment. It also
provides an opportunity to spend one-on-one time with a coaching couple who can help to
unpack issues previously stuffed.
As coaches, we have witnessed both heartbreaks and triumphs. There are no words to describe the joy we get when we grieve and rejoice with these couples. Not only is the military AIM retreat impactful for the couples, but it also serves to strengthen our own marriage as well. We have coached countless military AIM retreats and always leave feeling as though our marriage has gotten a refresher.
If you want to be a part of this amazing ministry designed for the men and women
who serve us daily, I urge you to consider a donation specifically to the military
AIM programs.
